New

Ridgeway Gradient 4-Ply Yarn

New product

  • 50g ball of our 4-ply yarn, dyed as a gradient.
  • Our gradient colour collection is inspired by ancient roads and trackways in Wiltshire, our home county. The Ridgeway is probably the most famous prehistoric trackway in England, and runs along the downs not far from the village where we live. It passes many prehistoric monuments and archaeological sites, and has a mystical, mythological atmosphere. I chose ethereal purples, lilacs and greys for the colourway.
  • Our rare breed Cotswold sheep provide the fleece, which is then worsted spun by the Natural Fibre Company in Cornwall.
  • I hand dye it using acid dyes.
  • Gradient yarns make intriguing scarves and shawls. You'd need two of these 50g balls to make a pair of socks.
  • Recommended needle size 2.75-3.25mm.
