Mini Skein Starfish Cotswold 4-ply

New product

  • Mini skein (20g) of our 4-ply yarn, from the wool of our own flock of Cotswold sheep, hand dyed.
  • Our rare breed Cotswold sheep provide the fleece, which is then worsted spun by the Natural Fibre Company in Cornwall.
  • I hand dye it using acid dyes.
  • Mini skeins are brilliant fun - a bite-sized portion of our lovely yarn to make tiny things with.
  • Recommended needle size 2.75-3.25mm, each skein contains c.68 m of yarn.
  • The colourway Starfish is part of our Wiltshire collection, inspired by the county in which we live. The cryptic name refers, not to a sea creature, but to the code name given to a World War 2 bombing decoy site! Situated on Liddington Hill overlooking Swindon, the decoy was created to look like the Swindon railway works at night, and drew the bombers away from the real works. Liddington Hill is a hill of many moods; this colourway represents the sunrise over the hill, and the flames of the decoy site keeping Swindon safe.
